- Survey on key issues of the Future of Europe debate based
on interviews with personalities from public life in all participating
countries (elected representatives, journalists, academics, youth leaders,
social partners, NGO representatives,
)
- Public Competition: "The Future of Europe: Our Opinion
Counts"Text calling for proposals/ideas on the future of Europe
will be made known in daily newspapers (at least an 1/8 page add in
a large daily newspaper of each country), the publications of the partner
organisations, the internet, through posters distributed at universities
and a large number of free-cards advertising the homepage
- Special workshops on three main issues of the Future of Europe
debate will be held in each participating country. People submitting
ideas/proposals for the public competition will be invited to join these
workshops.
- Conference in Vienna: March 28th until March 29th 2003, attended by 15 participants
from each country plus an additional number of local participants from
the larger Vienna region. The results of the survey, the public competition
and the special workshops will be the basis for the content of the conference.
More than half of the participants (105) will be young people also attending
the preceding Constitutional Convention simulation based on a specially
drafted list of individual roles. The results of the conference will
be published and will be made available through the internet to a larger
public. A leaflet with a short summary of the project advertising the
project's homepage will be published in all languages of the participating
countries.
- Public action around Europe Day 2003, consisting of information
stalls in the participating countries. Apart from information material
of the European Institutions the project's leaflet and free-card will
be distributed. Young people with European experience will be engaging
in debates with citizens on the Future of Europe.
- During the project a special project homepage will be created
at the following address: www.citizens.eu.org. Links to all relevant
sites of the partners, the European institutions and the Constitutional
Convention will be established and the different project phases will
be advertised in the languages of the participating countries.
